Read about our activity day to support adopted teens

We are in the early stages of developing a teen group so we held a Teen Activity Day on Sunday 4 September at an outdoor activity centre.

Our young people took part in a range of activities organised by a local group who specialise in outdoor pursuits. These pursuits included a team assault course; target archery and a team activity to build and launch a rocket to see who's would fly furthest!

We stopped for lunch which allowed everyone to get to know each other a little better – comparing stories of summer holidays, school and football.

The aim of the day was for young people that are adopted to come together, have some fun, complete team building activities and meet other young people with shared experiences and hopefully make some new friends.

Feedback from young people

Feedback from the event shows how much our young people enjoyed the day and would definitely come back to the next event we plan.

"'It was very good, I really liked the team building exercises."

"Holly, Louise and Jodie were friendly and threw themselves into it all."

"The other youngsters were super friendly".

"100% ,I would do an activity day with those guys again"

"When is the next one"

Feedback from parents

Feedback from a parent whose sons attended the event was:

"My two sons attended this today and they REALLY enjoyed it. 100% I'd go again - everyone was super friendly"

"Hope there will be more of these for the older adopted youngsters as it was so good for them to know everyone there was adopted."
