Could you adopt?

The search is on... for potential adopters. Could this be you?

We're looking for adoptive parents who can provide loving forever homes for youngsters in Lancashire and Blackpool.

We've launched a new campaign urging anyone interested in adopting a child or young person to get in touch to find out more about the adoption process. You can give us a call  on 0300 123 6727 or

Our #SearchIsOn campaign aims to show how we're always on the look out for would-be adopters and welcome people from all backgrounds and walks of life.

If you're a prospective adopter, then our staff are more than happy to talk to you about what adopting could mean for you and your families and will answer any questions you may have.

Each year around 90 children in Lancashire and Blackpool start a new life thanks to their adoptive parents taking that first step by getting in touch.

If you decide that adoption is right for you, there is plenty of support available throughout the whole adoption process and beyond.

Who we're looking for

The only legal requirements are that adopters must be over 21 and live within Lancashire and Blackpool or nearby.

We're keen to hear from a broad range of prospective adopters, including single people and couples, same-sex and heterosexual, from all religious backgrounds or none.

We'd also like to hear from people who have already adopted, have a family, or are looking into adoption because they are unable to have children of their own.

Anyone who wishes to adopt, regardless of age, marital status, sexuality or gender will be considered. There are no strict rules about whether people should have jobs, their own homes or have their own children.
