"In short we have had an amazing journey so far and would 100% recommend. Now we have the 2 children here with us it’s incredible."

Debbie and Charlie's story

Our adoption process has been very insightful and to try and sum it up is hard to put into words.

This journey has been emotional for both my partner and I, from massive highs to moments recalling painful times. But honestly our social worker has been an absolute god send - helpful, caring, informative - basically she’s been an absolute gem.

The process didn’t feel at all invasive, but we were completely open and honest about everything. And now our family is whole.

We always knew we would have more than one child and our social worker always made sure we were happy and fully informed with everything that we did. No question has felt like a stupid question to ask.

Even with what I’m sure is an immense case load we have always felt like the most important people throughout this process. We really can’t speak highly enough of our social worker and her manager for all the help and support we could have possibly needed.

In short we have had an amazing journey so far and would 100% recommend. Now we have the 2 children here with us it’s incredible. It feels like they’ve always been a part of our family.

There’s been some challenging times and even though both my partner and I are used to heavy schedules, we seem to have found a new level of tired, but it doesn’t matter about any of that. As long as the children are smiling and happy and healthy it all goes away. We are absolutely besotted with both of them.

They love their grandparents and aunties, uncles and cousins too. Becoming a parent to these two beautiful humans is the best thing ever. We overcome new obstacles daily and we are all learning different things. The children are settled and what used to be a 40 minute bedtime meltdown now doesn’t exist.

The children have both progressed massively in such a short space of time. They are both eager and keen to learn and do new things as well as enjoy the regular activities. Our eldest was described as shy and quiet, but now knows nearly every person on our daily walks. She says hello to everyone everywhere and never hastens to introduce her younger sibling and us.
